The company was found in the United States of America back in 1918.

Frigidaire developed the first self-contained refrigerator in 1916. In 1918, William C. Durant, a founder of General Motors, personally invested in the company and in 1919, it adopted the name Frigidaire.

The Brand was known in the refrigerating field back in the early 1900s as many Americans called any refrigerator Frigidaire regardless of the brand. Since 1919 to 1979 the company also manufactured compressors for General Motors cars that was equipped with air conditioning.

The Company claims first including self-contained refrigerators, air conditions and home freezers.

Frigidaire’s early years in market, the market was very competitive in washing machines business, therefore their engineer Kenneth Sisson was credited to design the incrementing timer used on clothes washers and dishwashers for years to come. Which introduced to the market in 1947 due to world war 2.

In 1955 Frigidaire’s unique washers with pulsamatic mechanism that pulsed 630 times per hour In 1963 the coin-operating commercial washers for self-service laundromats.

Refrigerators

Frigidaire also produces a wide variety of refrigerators and freezers for the consumer market.

 Their model line-up includes:

-Refrigerator freezer units of several different types.

– The selection they offer includes traditional Top Freezer models

  -More modern Side-By-Side and French Door styles.

-Air Conditioning 

In addition to manufacturing room air conditioners,

 Frigidaire also provided the factory air conditioning systems for General Motors.

 these units developed a reputation for providing powerful air conditioning systems on virtually all General Motors cars and trucks from the largest Cadillacs to the small Chevrolet Vega.

 General Motors also sold Frigidaire auto air conditioning compressors for Jaguar and to Rolls-Royce and Bentley branded cars.

Frigidaire produces:

Air conditionings, Refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dish washers , ovens and microwave ovens.
