Eid Kahk With Pistachio Honey Filling.

This the most popular dessert for Eid gathering and favors, this recipe is easy and fun to make with pistachio honey filling.

However you can always get creative with fillings traditional or out of the box.

What you’ll need for this recipe:

3 cups of flour

Dash of salt

1 Tablespoon sugar

½ Teaspoon cinnamon

3 Tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (optional)

½ teaspoon dry yeast

1 cup room temperature ghee (not melted)

1/3 cup warm water

For pistachio filling:

1 Tablespoon ghee or butter

1 Tablespoon flour

1 Teaspoon sesame seeds

¼ cup honey

½ cup pistachio grounded

Instructions:

In your stand mixer attach paddle add flour, salt, sugar, yeast, cinnamon and sesame seeds.

Add ghee and mix until fully incorporated.

Add water and mix till you get a nice consistent dough.

Cover and let rest for 1 hour.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling, add butter or ghee in a small pot over medium heat, add flour and mix until flour turns brown.

Remove from heat ad sesame and honey mixing it well, then return to low heat and let it cool down until it thickens.

Remove from heat, add pistachios and mix well, and let it cool down completely then form balls.

When the hour passes, and dough is ready starts taking balls out of dough stuff them with filling bowls.

Press into Mamoul tool.

Place cookies on a parchment paper bake at 177c for 20-25 minutes or until bottoms are golden brown.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar for garnish.
